Landeia Phillips, Director of Communication
Landeia Phillips serves as our Director of Communication. In this role, she organizes initiatives to connect with entities to support our mission.
Landeia is a certified special education teacher, and facilitator of property management for Alpha Delta Pi and Lake Ray Hubbard community. In college, Landeia researched about grandparents raising children with disabilities at University of North Texas Honors College and awarded Ms. Juneteenth of Denton, Texas. She has worked in rehabilitation services for collegiate disability services, respite care for foster care children and interned with Arc of Dallas non profit serving all individuals with special needs. She has served in high schools as an “End the Silence” presenter sharing resources and mental health stories to young people through the National Alliance of Mental Illness Dallas and Mississippi chapters. Upon graduating college, she served at Southern Methodist University Project Transformation in Dallas. Landeia has served as a private tutor for many students in the Dallas Fort-Worth area.
For the past decade, Landeia has advocated at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital, Richardson Methodist Hospital, Carrollton Springs, Alliance Health Center and Weems Mental Health. She has offered recommendations for improving inpatient care services, such as nutrition schedules, hospital stay policies, art therapy, chapel, outdoor breaks, music therapy, healthy snacks for dietary needs, pet therapy, and other creative activities. These recommendations improved hospital stay experiences and outcomes.
Landeia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of North Texas. Additionally, she studied at Southern Methodist University and Camp Counselor for SMU and Royal Family Kids Camp. She is a certified peer support specialist for people living with metal illness.
She's an advocator for people with special needs and mental illnesses. Additionally she enjoys ping pong, traveling, and fashion.
